We are involved in tasks which include operation and inspection of equipment to produce fresh water and pure water used by nuclear power stations, inspection and cleaning of water intakes, incineration to reduce the amount of combustible materials in radiation controlled areas, and solidification of concentrated waste fluid in storage drums with asphalt after they have been filled.

We analyze water and lubricating oils used at nuclear power stations, inspect monitoring instruments used for water treatment, and act as witnesses for the reception of chemical substances. We also measure radiation in the environments surrounding nuclear power stations, inspect equipment used to measure the radiation levels of environmental samples, and collect and prepare samples to be used for such measurement.

We measure the radiation exposure doses of workers in radiation controlled areas and the doses found in work environments, and perform inspections when any items are taken out of radiation controlled areas. We also review documents related to managing access into radiation controlled areas, and inspect, repair, and calibrate radiation measuring instruments inside and outside of power stations.

To ensure that initial fire protection activities can be carried out quickly if a fire occurs at a nuclear power station, we organize private fire brigades and conduct monitoring activities on a 24-hour basis. We also inspect and maintain fire protection equipment and provide education and training so that fire protection measures can be performed reliably in the event of fires.

In order to dispose of radioactive waste generated by power stations, we safely and reliably inspect them, and transport them from power stations to disposal sites (Rokkasho Village, Aomori Prefecture) after loading them into containers. We also perform cleaning procedures in radiation controlled areas, and wash and store work clothes used during work operations.

In order to conduct decommissioning safely and reliably, we measure and evaluate the volumes of waste and their radioactive contamination levels in advance, and promote investigations related to waste treatment and measurement equipment, as well as logistics operations. We also carry out technical development which includes selecting the methods regarding decontamination technology for chemical or mechanical decontamination, and confirming the performance of such technology.
