Kanden Power Tech Corporation (KPT) imports and sells the woody biomass fuels PKS (Palm Kernel Shell) and Wood pellets from overseas. On 10 February 2022, KPT completed the acquisition of RSB certification (Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials, Headquarters: Switzerland) in order to demonstrate traceability and sustainability of our transactions for PKS.　KPT also acquired GGL (Green Gold Label, Headquarters: The Netherlands) certificate on 2 March 2022, which means that KPT has acquired two international certificates. Suppliers of biomass fuel to FIT-eligible woody biomass power plants in Japan will be required to have these certificates from April 2023 (planned) in accordance with the Business Plan Development Guidelines set by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
Both certificates guarantee that the biomass fuel ('PKS') procured by KPT is produced and distributed in a legal and sustainable manner, e.g. that environmental protection, occupational safety and human rights related to forests are protected in the production area, and that traceable segregation management is established in the supply chain.

In accordance with the rules of this international certification, KPT will continue to ensure a stable supply of certified PKS in order to support the shift to an even lower carbon and more sustainable society.
