【Basic Principles】
Our business activities are supported by our customers, local communities, business partners, employees, and many other members of society.
The trust we receive from them is the foundation for us to fulfill our mission as a company and to achieve sustainable growth.
While ensuring that we fulfill our responsibilities as a member of society, such as ensuring compliance and accountability, and by faithfully meeting the expectations of our stakeholders for our business activities, we will contribute to the sustainable development of society and realize a brighter and more prosperous future, thereby building a strong foundation of trust in our stakeholders.
Based on the following principles, we commit to fulfill our corporate social responsibility (CSR) in all our business activities.

1. Stable provision of safe and high quality services and commodities

As a company that plays a role in the integrated energy business, we will prioritize safety and provide a stable supply of high-quality services and commodities to support the lifelines essential to society whilst meeting their needs.

  • Recognizing that ensuring safety is the major premise of all business operations, we will comply with safety laws and regulations, and will give priority to ensure safety in all processes and actions.
  • We identify the factors that lead to accidents, disasters, and defects, we take efforts in their prevention. Should accidents or disasters occur, we will make implement prompt rescue and restitution.
  • In the execution of an operation, we will continue to ameliorate our business content and rules to maintain and improve quality.
  • We do our best to satisfy customers through continuous improvement of our operation and by meeting their requests and providing them with consultation in a sincere, prompt, and accurate manner.

2. Active contribution to environmental protection

As a company which has a close relationship with the environment in the integrated energy business, we will strive to reduce environmental impact and risks throughout our business activities. Furthermore, we will use our technology and know-how to engage in the environmental business and contribute to environmental protection.

  • In our own operations, we implement environmentally-friendly actions to save resources and energy.

3. Thorough compliance

We shall comply with laws, regulations, internal rules, and corporate ethics in all aspects of our business activities, and thoroughly enforces compliance as the foundation of our management. In addition, we will establish, maintain and improve systems to ensure these practices are in order.

  • We have a consciousness that securing safety and health, preservation of environment, and respect for human rights are important from a perspective of compliance.
  • In implementing our operations, we observe laws to regulate our operations, related laws, and in-house rules and regulations. In operations carried abroad, we observe international rules and local laws.
  • Regardless of previous in-house practices and rules, organization, and system, we continue to observe laws, consider what currently required social norms are from our customers and social perspectives, and act on these social norms.
  • We implement our operations by keeping in mind that “we must never prioritize business operations to compliance.”
  • We take strict action toward business-related presents and entertainment.
  • We implement our operations based on fair and free competition. We strictly control personal information, customer information, and corporate secrets. We do not violate others’ intellectual property.
  • We will not take actions to promote activities of antisocial forces and organizations.
  • We must remain aware of the fact that we are members of Kansai Electric Power Group, maintain our dignity, and conduct decent behaviors as members of society.

4. Construction of good work environment that respects human rights and
  utilizes diversity

We consider human rights as a universal value common to the international community, support international norms on human rights, and respect human rights in all of our business activities. We will create a safe and comfortable working environment for all people involved in our business activities and will make the most of diversity.

  • We respect human rights of all the people related to our business operations.
  • We will not implement harassment such as discrimination, abuse, defamation, practical joke, or any other behavior to make others feel uncomfortable because of race, nationality, creed, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, social status, lineage, occupation, handicap, and other factors. We will not tolerate unlawful discrimination or harassment of any kind.
  • We will not get involved with any form of forced or child labor.
  • We make efforts to pay attention to safety and health to construct good work environment.

5. Highly transparent and open business activities

We will ensure fairness in our business operations by accurately reflecting the voice of society in our business activities, disclosing and disseminating accurate information in a timely manner, and further promoting communication with public. We will conduct highly transparent and open business activities by fulfilling our accountability to society in good faith.

6. Coexistence with local communities

We will contribute to the development of local communities by actively participating in community-based activities and paying attention to good relationships with local communities through all aspects of our business activities. Our overseas business activities will also contribute to the development of the local community while taking into account the local culture and customs.
