Training for Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Operators
Tanjung Jati B (TJB) Power Station is a 2,640-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant complex located in Central Java Province, Indonesia. It is the primary power supply for the Java-Bali region. Since before the Commercial Operation Date (COD) in 2021, Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCO) has been hosting a training program for TJB's Unit 5&6 operators and KPT has been engaged in these programs partly as the expertise of plant operation. In 2024, KEPCO and Kanden Plant (KP) hosted a training program, entrusting KPT with some parts of the program. This included lectures on the jetty & unloading and coal handling systems.

The program consists of:
1.Introduction to Japanese Culture
Before the trainees began their training in Japan, our staff provided an introduction to Japanese culture and society. This was intended to help them better understand the environment in which they would be training, and a cultural and historical site visit session was held to give them first-hand experience.
2.Site Visit
Trainees had the opportunity to visit the Maizuru Coal Power Plant to directly observe the site, its facilities, and how operators manage and handle operations. Trainees also had the opportunities to receive the explanation from KPT's expertise during their visit.
3.Q&A Session
We addressed any questions that the trainees had regarding issues they experienced back in Indonesia. These were answered on the spot while observing the facilities, providing solutions to those issues.
Results
By the end of the program, trainees gained valuable insights through engineering and technical Q&A sessions held on-site with experienced engineers from KEPCO, KP, and KPT. These sessions provided them with a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences between their facilities and ours. Additionally, they acquired essential knowledge on preventing and addressing potential issues moving forward.
